Kuttner do Brasil, a traditional supplier of equipment and installations for the steel, foundry, mining, energy, and environmental industries, is a company controlled by the KKG Group from Germany, with operations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Its range of activities includes technology development, engineering, and the supply of complete, tailor-made systems, aimed at optimizing and streamlining operational cycles, energy efficiency, and reducing environmental impact.

Founded in 1974, it is headquartered in Contagem – MG, serving the markets of Brazil and Latin America.

Our History

Founded by Engineer Dr. Carl Küttner, in the city of Essen - Germany, to serve the steel and foundry industries during the post-war reconstruction phase.

On May 6, 1974, Kuttner do Brasil was founded in Belo Horizonte to meet the growing demand of the Brazilian market for steel, foundry, and mining industries.

1976
With the market in full expansion, Kuttner do Brasil built its own headquarters with office and industrial space in Contagem/MG for the manufacture and assembly of its systems/equipment.
1976
In the following years, it participated in the expansion of the Brazilian Steel Industry with projects at the plants of Usiminas, Cosipa (now Usiminas Cubatão), CSN, Acesita (now Aperam), and Mannesmann (now Vallourec), as well as in the construction of new plants for Açominas (now Gerdau Ouro Branco) and CST (now AMT).
1980s
First supplies to Sofunge and Tupy foundries, and participation in the construction of new foundries for Freios Varga (now ZF), Embraco, and WEG Motors.
1980s
Supply of Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) facilities for the Blast Furnaces at Usiminas in Ipatinga/MG and Mannesmann (now Vallourec) in Belo Horizonte/MG.
1990s
Expansion into Gas Cleaning and Dedusting Systems, with the supply of Dedusting Systems for the Stockhouses of Blast Furnaces 2+3 at CSN. Participation in the first expansion of CST (now AMT) with the supply of the Stockhouse of BF2 and the Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) for BFs 1+2.

Participation in the second expansion of CST (now AMT) to 7.5 MT/year, with supplies in the PCI area for BF3, sintering, and steelmaking.

Supply of a complete Sintering plant for Rio Doce Manganês – RDM in Simões Filha/BA (now Vale).

Participation in the construction of the new plants TKCSA (now Ternium) in the Steelmaking area with the alloy and flux addition system, and Vallourec & Sumitomo Brasil (now Vallourec Brasil) in the Blast Furnace area, with the handling and beneficiation system for charcoal and charcoal fines injection - PCI.

Engineering, Implementation Management, and Supply of the new Metalsider foundry in Betim/MG.

Supply of the Lime and Dolomite Handling System for the steelmaking and sintering plant at CSP (now ArcelorMittal Pecém) in Pecém/CE.

In May 2017, Kuttner do Brasil acquired from IMF Italy the controlling interest in IMF Brazil in Piracicaba/SP, incorporating it under the new corporate name Kuttner No-Bake Solutions - KNBS.

Participation in the construction of the new WEG Motors foundry in Mexico, with equipment for Melting, Green Sand Molding, No-Bake Sand Molding, and Environmental Protection.

Expansion of operations in the Latin American market, with supplies for the foundry industry in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.

Kuttner KNBS

Kuttner KNBS was incorporated into the KKG Group as an affiliate of Kuttner do Brasil in June 2017. As a successor to RB Equipamentos Industriais Ltda and IMF Brasil, it already had more than 30 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing equipment and installations for the foundry industry.

Its focus is on foundries using the no-bake sand process, offering a complete line for all molding stages, from sand mixing, Fast Loop, demolding, to mechanical and thermal sand reclamation systems and automation.

Kuttner KNBS is located in Piracicaba/SP, with facilities for engineering, manufacturing, and technical support, serving the Brazilian market and all of Latin America.
