The KKG Group

The KKG Group, based in Essen, Germany, emerged from an engineering company founded in 1949 by Dr. Carl Küttner, starting with reconstruction of the European steel industry in the post-war era. The company has developed over the decades into an internationally active industrial plant supplier focusing on conveying and processing technology, industrial furnace construction, exhaust gas purification and waste heat utilization.

Today, the KKG Group operates as a holding company with several subsidiaries and associated companies in Europe, Asia, North and South America. The holding companies operate autonomously in their respective markets and have their own know-how and expertise for the corresponding applications and are sharing these competences available in the global network of the group.

The spectrum of services of the holding companies includes

planning, construction, supply, installation and commissioning of complete systems including control system and data processing.

Kuttner France is based in Barr, near Strasbourg and was founded as a subsidiary in 1975 to serve the market in France and the French-speaking countries of North Africa. The company is active in the steel and foundry industry with the traditional technologies of the group, i.e. conveying and processing technology as well as melting plants with cupola furnaces and environmental technology with dust removal systems.

Kuttner do Brasil, traditional supplier of equipment and facilities for the steel, foundry, mining, energy and environmental industries, is a company affiliated with the KKG Group of Essen / Germany with operations in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Its range of activities comprises technology development, engineering and supply of complete, tailor-made systems, aiming to optimize and rationalize operational cycles, energy efficiency and reduce impacts on the environment.

Founded in 1974, it has its own headquarters in Contagem / MG, serving the markets of Brazil and Latin America.

Kuttner no-bake solutions – KNBS – was incorporated into the KKG Group as an affiliate of Kuttner do Brasil in June 2017. As the successor to IMF Brasil and the RB Equipamentos Industriais Ltda, the company was born with an accumulated experience and expertise of more than 30 years in engineering and manufacturing of equipment and installations for the foundry industry.

The focus of the technologies is on foundries with a no-bake sand process, with a complete range of equipment’s for all stages of molding, from sand mixing, through the Fast Loop to the demolding of castings, including mechanical and thermal sand recovery systems as well as supervisory automation systems.

Kuttner KNBS is located in its own headquarters in Piracicaba / SP, with facilities for the entire engineering, manufacturing and technical assistance process, from where it serves the Brazilian market as well as all other markets in Latin- and North America.

Kuttner North America is based in Port Washington / WI and was founded in 1999 as a joint venture of Kuttner GmbH & Co. KG (now KKG Group) and Modern Equipment. Main products, at that time, were cupola furnaces and material handling. Over the years and with changed ownerships, additional technologies were brought into the portfolio, such as air pollution controls (with the partnership of Lühr Filter, Germany), dirty and clean gas heat recovery, and heat exchangers (with the partnership of Würz GmbH, Germany).

Today, Kuttner North America is built on a stable foundation of business in foundries, steel industries, and waste to energy. The company remains as a joint venture of KKG Group, Lühr Filter and privately held shares.

Kuttner North America is a single source for all expertise and resources within the KKG family of companies. Together with the global colleagues at KKG-Group, Lühr Filter, and Würz, the company provides complete system solutions, tailored to meet the individual customer needs.

Kuttner KNBS México

Kuttner KNBS Mexico is a joint venture between Kuttner no-bake solutions / Brazil, Kuttner GHW / USA and local partners. The company is based in Queretero, Qro and was founded in 2024 to provide local support for spare parts and technical assistance to Mexican foundry customers. In addition, exists the possibility of providing local supply components and services for larger overall plant projects.

WÜRZ GmbH

WÜRZ GmbH is an engineering company specialized in customized solutions for industrial combustion and heat exchange applications.

WÜRZ has been founded as a joint venture of Ing. (grad.) Joachim Würz and Küttner GmbH & Co. KG (now KKG Group), Essen / Germany. The basis of the partnership was the experience from earlier activities in the areas of air heaters and thermal oil systems as well as the systems set up jointly with Küttner in foundries and metallurgical industries.

In more than 30 years, WÜRZ has been able to establish itself in various markets and continued to grow under the leadership of Managing Partner Dr. Jörg Rachner. Today, the company is a joint venture of KKG Group, Martin GmbH, Munich/Germany and Dr. Jörg Rachner.
